Witchy Tips

Bells help ward off ( - ) negativity.

Hanging bells on door knobs began with my grandmother. Whenever she came home from Saudi Arabia or Sri Lanka she pulled her bells out of her mirrored, elephant decorated trunk and hung them on our back door. She placed them on the door we used most. She said it kept the bad people out, spirits and energy. Then she would scoff at me playfully and hug me to be careful not to scare me. This was an old family tradition she carried from her grandmother. It’s generational.

The reason they work is because of sound. Sound heals. The vibrations cleanse the energy. The element of Air helps to carry the bells sound within a few feet of the door creating a sort of protection.

Next time you see bells on a door remember this is an ancient witchy tip that is there to help, not just for looks or to let you know you have a guest.

The Other Power of Salt

Salt can be used in many ways besides cooking. I use salt in my magic for protection and cleansing. The salt we use is created by mother earth. She has the power to heal.

There are many, many types of salt. The only piece of advice I can give is to be sure it is pure, not dyed, not synthetic and not man made otherwise you are wasting your money.

Black Salt is common for protection. Pink salt is for health benefits. Table salt is for everything. Here are a few ways that I incorporate salt into my daily life.

  • Black Salt: Place in all four corners of your home to keep (-) negativity at bay. This includes arguments, and spirits (not uncommon to bring home for mediums).

  • Bath Salts (Epsom or Table Salt): Cleanse your Aura, get rid of any unwanted daily attachments.

  • Black or White Salt: Sprinkle salt over your welcome mat at your front door to keep the positivity (+) in and the negativity (-) out.

    • P.S. I never place a mat that actually says “Welcome”

Create an Altar or a Mantle

Define your space and set your intention to guide, protect or welcome in something new.

An altar or as many refer to it a mantle. This is a space that was traditionally used for magic, manifesting or just to set your intentions for the time you have your altar setup. It inspires us the most during the holidays. This is an olde world tradition representing the element of fire. It was a place to gather, to keep warm, and to set your intentions for the year. If you were unable to afford coal or wood a candle was often used in the fire’s place.

It’s important to keep your mantle clean, free from dust and debri. This is setting the intention that you would your space (phycial and mental) free from nonsense. The stuff that settles that you do not want. We never want dust to settle, we sweep it away.

Things to place on your altar:

  • Holiday decor to spread smiles.

  • Candles

  • Photos of Ancestors for guidance

  • Crystals for cleansing

  • Dowser for cleansing

  • Water for purification

I change my altar for holidays, seasons or when I am instructed by guides to do so.

The Healing Power of Water

We all know that water is used to cleanse and to hydrate. What we forget is how powerful it is. Water heals.

When we set our intention to wash away our troubles we are telling the Element of Water to heal us. It listens. This has been proven many times scientifically. So what should you do to embrace this healing and cleansing further?

  1. Set your intention.

  2. Wash away your worries and your troubles.

  3. Do this process more regularly.

Our is our first line of defense please keep it clean.

Scrying

Mirror Mirror on the wall, whose the fairest of them all. #Disney

This is an old witchy tool, it stems back centuries. It was done in puddles, in ponds and in lakes, it was done in bowls, all by the use of a reflection.

The refelction you see tells you so much more than what you are looking at. Depending on your gifts you may see the past, present and the future.

Why do it? To get your fortune told!

Amulets

These are not just knick knacks as some stories are told.

They are sacred symbols, jewelry, they were ruins kept to dispel evil, protect against harm, & bring in love. They are charmed or enchanted with a incantation.

Welcome Mat - Don’t Do This

Do you really want ALL to be Welcome in your home or place of business. I think not. This tells humans, elementals, jinn’s, or spirits that they are welcome to come in. We have to set boundaries physically and energetically. It’s healthy, it provides safety and security.

By placing a Welcome mat or sign you tell the Universe just that, Welcome come on in. We don’t mean it, so don’t do it. It’s a suggestion and otherworldly beings take kindly to suggestions.

I place a Hello mat at my front door. It’s kind and just enough.

FULL MOONS; What Not To Do

Full Moon rituals have been around almost as long as we have, or maybe longer. This was a time for harvesting. Farmers used the moon to track the crop seasons. Have you ever watched Peaky Blinders, watch to see how they reference the moon and what they won’t do.

Things not to do during a Full Moon:

  1. Don’t start something new, projects, etc.

  2. Don’t plant new seeds.

  3. Don’t have intense discussions, they will not go well.

  4. Don’t over do it. Take a break during a full moon.

  5. Don’t make big decisions.

KITCHEN WITCHERY

Why are you cooking? Are you making yourself a meal, are you cooking for others or are you baking just for fun? Think about what you want out of this dish. THEN...

Set your intention when you begin to cook. Put it right in the pot. Use Your Energy to put love into it, to put fun into it. Put kindness into it. What do you want to put into this meal?

BROOM MAGIK

Can I tell you the truth about brooms? They clean so much more than dust. They get the energy out. We sweep it away. When a broom falls, someone is leaving. When there are mounds of dust on it, you are letting things pile up. It’s a symbol. They are everywhere especially when you are ready to receive.

Before sweeping, set your intention to remove the negativity. To get the dirt out of your life. To keep things clean and tidy.

Be careful, don’t force a broom to fall, that’s a hex (another way of saying harm or wishing someone to leave your life) let it happen naturally. Don’t ever force it to stand either, that can be worse.

MONEY FLOW

If you want more money, which I am willing to bet that most of you do try my simple witchy tip. This will increase your regular flow of income, disposable income aka fun money, money for groceries or even if it’s for those new stilettos you want.

Purchase your fool’s gold also known as pyrite below. When it arrives place in on your wallet for a minimum of one night. For the best results place it on your entry table to keep the money continuously entering. You can use Moon MagiK to increase it faster or just make it habit to put it on your wallet daily overnight.

You may also want to get a small piece to keep your pockets full. Put it in your pockets when you leave your home, they will never be empty again.

Visit my Instagram for Moon MagiK! 💫 P.S. It may not actually look like the color gold.

STIRRING THE POT

Has someone ever stirred the pot? Hindered your progress or started trouble? Try this…

Set your intention:

Stir the pot counterclockwise six times. As you are stirring repeat the following, I unwind time, I unwind the bind. I unwind your curse, your hex has now been reversed.
